Woof Woof! Poppy is back to participate in the Canuck Place Adventure Race!
Typing with paws is tough, so we asked Poppy why she wanted to do the Adventure Race again, and she told us about all the fun she had!
She kayaked with Laura, the recreation therapist (and even got to roll in the sand after!). Then she joined Canuck Place kids for the bike and trail run. They used special trail runners and adaptive bikes, pulled or pedaled by their families, so everyone got to participate!
Next, Poppy did the kids obstacle course. A whole bunch of the kid racers came over to cheer her on! She needed it, that was hard work! They even helped her get some water after the race, and she joined the other racers at the massage tent for some well-earned pats.
Overall, Poppy had a pretty exciting day, but her favourite part was raising funds for Canuck Place families! They're always so happy when they see Poppy - she gets lots of hugs, and there's always someone to play catch with.
Poppy visits kids with her friend, Dr. Hal. He makes sure the kids are feeling as well as they can. Sometimes he has to talk to their parents, and Poppy makes sure the kids don't get scared.
Since Poppy knows how hard all the doctors and nurses at Canuck Place work, she wants to make sure they can keep helping all of her friends, so now she's asking you to sponsor her in the Adventure Race!
When she doesn't have any kids to visits, she's already hard at work training for the race! She's asked us to film her next training session, and we'll post the video when you donate!
